Polymet

In the first episode of Build Great Products, I test Polymet.ai, a Y-Combinator backed startup and product that promises to be your AI product designer. I explore how close this comes to actually replacing product designers, and give an in-depth review of the product, how it might fit into a designer or developer's workflow, and ultimately, whether it's worth the hype...

Key lessons for your product

Lesson 1

Guide your user through the product experience as they interact with features, instead of all at once. This can help users learn things as they use them and become familiar with the product at their own pace.

Lesson 2

Name your pricing plans in alignment with the price point. Polymet has both 'basic' and 'starter' plan levels which causes confusion and makes 'starter' feel less appealing.

Lesson 3

For long loading times, show users what is happening behind the scenes and give a better sense of progress. This can help ambiguous or unclear loading times feel faster and less frustrating.
